This EKG training awareness course is an overview of the EKG regulations and is generally taken by students/employees who have previously completed an EKG training or course.This EKG training awareness course is intended to keep medical assistants and other allied healthcare workers aware of EKG use and its function in a healthcare setting.

This EKG training awareness course is intended to keep medical assistants and other allied healthcare workers aware of EKG use and its function in a healthcare setting. It is developed for front-line healthcare personnel who work with EKGs in any area of allied healthcare. Examples of covered workers include those who work in or are:

After completing this continuing education EKG course, the student will be able to explain the importance of EKG as well as:

  • Identify the anatomy of the heart, including the position and location
  • Describe layers and chambers of the heart, and the location and function of cardiac valves

  • Describe the purpose of conducting an EKG
